The company is 4 years old; the team that founded it had spent more than a decade implementing and building RIS/PACS systems, hospital systems and medical interoperability before incorporating. NOVA Imaging was not a first attempt: it was the decision to build properly what we had already watched fail in many different ways.
That experience spans the full range of complexity — outpatient diagnostic practices, medical centers, clinics and tertiary hospitals — which is exactly what lets us size an implementation with nothing missing and nothing to spare.

INVIMA medical device registration
NOVA Imaging is registered with INVIMA — Colombia’s medical device authority — as a manufacturer and distributor of RIS/PACS medical devices.
Law 1581 of 2012 (Habeas Data)
The processing of personal health data follows Colombia’s data protection legislation.
Medical record retention
Configurable retention policies to meet the required document retention periods.
Encryption in transit and at rest
Images and reports travel and are stored encrypted, with no exceptions by study type.
Role-based access control
Each profile sees only what their role requires: radiologist, technologist, administrator or referring physician.
Traceability and audit
A record of who accessed, read, modified and signed each study, with date and time.
Interoperability over open standards: HL7 v2 (ADT · ORM · ORU), FHIR R4, DICOM and DICOMweb (WADO · QIDO · STOW), IHE profiles, and the LOINC, SNOMED CT and ICD-10 clinical terminologies.
